Pancakes

Who needs Bisquick?  This is the perfect pancake recipe - so light and airy, and delicious!
Pancakes
2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. melted shortening (or vegetable oil)
½ tsp. salt
1 ½ c. milk
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift dry ingredients.
Combine eggs and milk.
Add flour mixture and beat until smooth.
Add shortening, mix.

  1. It took me a while for Brit to convert me from the bisquick flapjacks, as she's always done homemade. Now I'll NEVER go back. These are delicious. She has usually always done homemade maple syrup as well...which is not worth it in my opinion, but the homemade buttermilk syrup is.
