Bisquick Mix

I never buy Bisquick, but I will sometimes find a recipe that calls for it.  This is a great substitute.
Bisquick Mix
8 c. flour, sifted
1/4 c. baking powder
4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. shortening

Mix ingredients with mixer until well blended, or cut in shortening with a pastry cutter or fork.

  1. I made this and used it in a recipe for Cheddar Bisquits instead of Bisquick mix, and they turned out fabulous. I will defenitely use this over and over. I just had a quick question. I didn't use it all, and I'm not sure if I should keep the rest in the fridge, or not?

  2. You don't have to keep it in the fridge. It will store in a sealed bag just like regular bisquick in your pantry.
